Sometimes People Just Exhaust Me....

I consider myself a nice person...not overly nice, but acceptably so, I do love my friends. They are few and far between. If I decide to develop a friendship then it matters enough for me to give it the attention it deserves. That takes time. We all know time is in short supply theses days. That is our own fault, over-extending and being so busy, busy, busy. I avoid that as well. My time constraints have to do with personal matters. Unavoidable and not very fun.

Back to people! I blog (in far too many places), I am very involved in a news site and, of course, Facebook; why, I'm not sure? Being involved on-line, I find that people are even worse in their anonymity. They will say anything with the assurance no one will find them and pop them one! I just had several friends leave one site due to other members behaving badly; everything from stalking to name calling. Please! Are we not adults? Or is the web just a microcosm of the world at large. If it's the latter, I'm glad I limit my relationships to a few good people.

Over the holidays I ran into some courteous folks. People who let you in when trying to merge your vehicle into the crazy traffic. Smiling faces with wishes of Merry Christmas! I even had the nicest young man help my Mom carry her purchases to the car...(could have been a disaster, I watch too much Law and Order, LOL).

But here's the thing that got me...I mean, I'm still steaming! For a reason I can't even fathom, an employee of my dentist told him I left a profanity laced message about a an appointment misunderstanding. It never happened. My dentist confronted me in all his arrogance. He told me I 'will not be tolerated'. He said he 'never received such an abusive message in his entire career'. He also accused me of 'lacing my message with profanity'. Now, that just makes me want to cuss! It never happened and, in fact, he didn't hear the message. No one else did except the one person who reported it. What's up with that?

I have owned several businesses. I would never accuse a customer without proof. I would fire the employee who claimed to erase the message. I would not have threatened a customer who has always been nice, whose entire family uses my services and used the condescending attitude he used during his confrontation...in the open, by the way, with employees and patients in earshot.

The moral of the story is; he lost five patients. My upcoming work was estimated to cost $60,000. I hit him where it hurts; right in his pocket. Never, ever allow someone you pay good money for services treat you badly or accuse you of a lie. Just don't take it! There are a plethora of other business people; do not settle for less than you deserve.

He, Doc, bite me! I feel better...thanks!
